McCoy's supporters now resorting to outright lies UPDATED

So now people writing in to the Times-Call who support Sean McCoy are just going to spread flat out fabrications about me (Chris Rodriguez).  I tried to email the TC about this lie, but was "off the grid" and they may not have gotten it in time - darn those vacations!

So, who's the McCoy stooge?  A Will Zulauf of Longmont wanted to take a cheap shot at my wife and I and said:  "In the Open Forum in the Oct. 7 Times-Call, Brigette Rodriguez is very critical of Sean and said he “worked to block the appointments of qualified people who volunteer for city boards.” She should explain how her husband got elected to the city Airport Advisory Board, and he didn’t even apply for the position."

Alright, moron, let me make this simple for you.  One of those people who my wife was talking about - one of many I should say - that was blocked from city boards was....ME.  I applied for the Elections Committee and was blocked by Sean McCoy (and Sarah Levison, Brian Hansen, and Karen Benker).  Ironically, if you see the long document of changes that were proposed for the Longmont Fair Campaign Practices Act (LFCPA) you will see my name all over it, and many of those suggestions were adopted - even though I wasn't on that committee!

And secondly, I DID fill out an application to the Airport Advisory Board, so where this moron is getting his information is anyone's guess.  Guess who voted against me?  McCoy, Levison, and Hansen yet again - and they claim to support appointing Hispanic/Latino's to city boards?  Their record says otherwise.  Mr. Zulauf can ask Mr. McCoy or any other current councilmember about this, it was online and in the agenda for everyone to see (December 2009) - unfortunately the city has removed everything prior to 2010 from their website.

Furthermore, it was one of the more controversial appointments because Sarah Levison tried everything for 3-4 weeks, including going against a particular rule in the City Charter, to undo that vote and get me off the board.

Here's where people like Mr. Zulauf get, well, confused, to put it lightly.  What drove some people batty was that I could not attend the interview process for board applicants.  I actually work, and not bankers hours.  I submitted any and all information to all councilmembers that they could even dream up in any interview and let them know well in advance that I could not attend any Saturday morning meetings, period.

Will the Times-Call print a correction?  I doubt it.  But in this time of even more controversy around the airport and the Master Plan process, it doesn't help those trying to complete the process when outright lies lies like this are printed in the paper.

UPDATE:  The Times-Call has changed the letter online, deleting the words "and he didn’t even apply for the position."  Thank you.
